How Fortify Works
Fortify is an incredible defensive tool that's new to Diablo 4 and it's not explained very well even for veterans of the series. When you have Fortify, you receive a damage reduction bonus. The amount of damage reduction increases as you have more Fortify.
For example, if you have 50% Fortify, you will take 50% less damage. If you have 100% Fortify, you will take 100% less damage.
How to Utilize Fortify
There are a number of ways to utilize Fortify to your advantage. One way is to use skills that grant Fortify. For example, the Barbarian's War Cry skill grants Fortify to all nearby allies. Another way is to equip items that grant Fortify. For example, the Stone Gauntlets unique gloves grant 15% Fortify.
